After having my first child, I started my first entrepreneurial venture and started my own photography business. I loved this creative avenue and it was very rewarding, but a whole lot of work, time and money. I ran the business for 8 years until I really felt the Lord telling me it was time to lay it down. And let me tell you, after pouring your heart into something, that was a hard thing to be obedient to! I still love taking pictures of my children and close personal friends. You’ll probably see some of my work interspersed throughout the website.
LipSense fell into my lap in April of 2016. I had always worn makeup, but could never really wear lipstick. It made my lips sore and would break out around the edges, so I gave up and became a chapstick addict. Can anyone relate?? I stalked the Facebook group page that I got added to for 3 weeks before I decided I give LipSense a try. I could always return it, which was something you really can’t do with store bought products. Needless to say, the claims are true. My mother tried it as well and she was hooked. We wanted more colors than our budget allowed on retail prices, so I signed up for the discount of course. I started telling my friends, and exactly a year later, I had a team of ladies that all fell in love with LipSense and all those ladies combined did OVER a million dollars in sales. One year ya’ll! Lipstick!! I don’t think I did a million dollars in sales in 8 years of my photography business.
The options this company has opened up for my family and the other families involved with SeneGence, are endless. You can read about some of them on a Mother’s Day album SeneGence posted on their Facebook account (I was one featured). There are some amazing stories on there. Both my boys are able to go to Coram Deo Academy – a private Classical, Christian, collaborative education school. They go there 3 days a week and 2 days they are home with me doing homeschool. I love being a part of their education process. We love to travel and now we get to do that a little more frequently. We get excited to explore the world together as a family and experience all of God’s creation! And I still get to have a piece of “me”. I couldn’t imagine not being a mom, but there is still a part of me that needs to just be me. It’s hard to explain in words, but if you are like me, you get it.
